Chris Jordan • Staff Writer for The Courier News/Home Tribune wrote this about The SOUTHERN STEEL Band:

"It's a pretty impressive thing when the Keyport-based Southern Steel gets its motor running.Twin lead guitars, a chugging rhythm section and plenty of Southern attitude — even if they are from Jersey — makes for a
full-on Southern rock experience. Into the Allmans, Skynyrd, Outlaws, 38 Special and Marshall Tucker? Then check these boys out...".

"We're just the players...YOU ARE THE SHOW"
              Hughie Thomasson [1952-2007]

The SOUTHERN STEEL BAND is a balls-to-the-walls hell-raisin' tribute to southern rock and roll. Armed with a distinctively southern swagger and a 3-guitar attack, hot keyboard licks, driving rhythm section, powerful lead vocals, and strong vocal harmonies SOUTHERN STEEL pays homage to all of the southern-rock legends including The Outlaws, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Allman Brothers, Molly Hatchet, 38 Special, Charlie Daniels, Blackfoot, Marshall Tucker, and ZZ Top by performing faithfully dead-on renditions of classic southern-rock favorites like Flirtin' With Disaster, Can't You See, Simple Man, Green Grass And High Tides, Melissa, That Smell, There Goes Another Love Song, Take The Highway, Highway Song, and more. The SOUTHERN STEEL Band has shared billing with such international acts as The Outlaws, Molly Hatchet, The Marshall Tucker Band, Blackfoot, Leslie West & Mountain, Foghat, and Dickey Betts & Great Southern.

The SOUTHERN STEEL BAND is:
Dave Sorber: Guitar/Vocals
Kevin Rose: Guitar/Vocals
Tom Tibaldi: Keys/Guitar/Vocals
Stan Romanowski: Bass/Vocals
Donn Deegan: Drums
Bill Hipple: Lead Vocals/Guitar
Ken Arnold: Sound Engineer

Due to an unfortunate circumstance involving health issues, The SOUTHERN STEEL Band has once again made a change at the drummer position. We are happy and proud to welcome DONN DEEGAN, fomerly of The Willys and Southern Fury, into the fold. Donn brings a combination of power and dynamics, great timing, a fantastic work ethic, and an excellent knowledge of southern rock to SOUTHERN STEEL!
We wish our good friend Bob Tarr a full recovery and good health. We enjoyed the short time you were able to spend with us.

Due to scheduling conflicts, Donn Deegan is unable to remain with SOUTHERN STEEL. Donn is a great drummer who we will miss and we wish him well in all of his future endeavours.
We PROUDLY would like to introduce you to our newest member of the SOUTHERN STEEL Family...JIMMY WHITFIELD on the drums!! Like Donn, JIMMY brings power, energy, dynamics, timing, a fantastic work ethic and knowledge of the southern rock genre as well as great passion to The SOUTHERN STEEL Band!
