• Missing .bin files

From Fae Empress@1:103/705 to All on Sunday, August 23, 2026 16:10:55
Hello fellow Sysops. I'm new to Synchronet software, having used Mystic and others for my BBS's in the past.

The web interface works great, but when I login to the telnet server, it complains of missing yesnobar.bin and default.bin (maybe others?).

    I'm running 3.17 on Linux, which I downloaded from https://vert.synchro.net/Synchronet/ (srun317b.tgz and sbbs317b.tgz)

So where can I get these files?

Thanks guys! Also I think I'm going to switch my old BBS over to Synchronet if I
    can get this working correctly.

Those files come with Synchronet, so they should be included in those files. The instructions from the Synchronet wiki regarding installing on Linux normally have you clone the Synchronet repository (to build from the source), and those files should all be included when you do that.

Also, if you're new to Synchronet, why are you using such an old version? The latest released version is 3.21, with 3.22 being the current development version.
