The whole pork roll vs taylor ham debate is stupid. It's pork roll, everyone knows this. Yet many are still in denial about it. Taylor ham is a brand of pork roll. On the label it says "Taylor Pork Roll". Everyone else in the entire world calls it pork roll except north jersey. I live in north jersey myself, and I'm surrounded by people who call it the wrong name. It drives me crazy.

Despite the facts, trying to talk sense into Team Taylor Ham is an uphill battle. They always lean on the "generic trademark" defense, throwing out arguments like:

"You call a tissue a Kleenex, right?"

"Everyone calls a bandage a Band-Aid, even if it's a different brand."

When that "crap" comes up, I hit them with the Pringles defense. Just like Taylor Ham, Pringles had to drop their original name because they didn't meet the legal definition of a "potato chip" (thanks to a lawsuit from Lay’s).

Did you know? Pringles were originally marketed as "Pringles Newfangled Potato Chips." Today, they are legally "potato crisps."
